Cancer tips no one can tell you and how are you supposed to knowYour job is to take care of this family by utilizing your team and your own strengths. You will be the communication person, the buffer for them and the others around you. In this crisis, anything is bound happen. If it gets to be too much work for you, get another team member. Remember, you must take care of yourself first before you can take care of others. If you don't have a specific strength or don't feel comfortable, team up with another pal and utilize their strength.

Examples and tips, you are never really prepared for and situations that may occur:

•If someone shows up at the hospital and the parents/child is too tired or is not comfortable with them being there, you are the one that will tell them to leave and they are not having visitors right now.

•Step into any difficult situation and mediate it. Absorb any negativity so it does not get to parents/child.

•Ask the parents/child what they need. Queue up your emotional intelligence to about 150%. Read their emotional behavior and sense the environment. Become the emotional barometer.
